The 3:25 on Champions Day, the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, is another Group 1 contest as part of tomorrow's racing. It offers more than £650,000 to the winner. Run over one mile, three-year-olds will carry 9st 3lb, while those aged four and above carry 9st 6lb. Females will be entitled to their usual 3lb allowance.

The field is stacked with quality, and Fallen Angel tops our THM Score last time out with an impressive 879 when winning at Newmarket earlier this month. However, several others have also posted figures well into the 800s — the key is to check the conditions under which those scores were achieved in the Race Info column.

The highest THM Score overall in the field belongs to Field Of Gold, earned in his penultimate start when landing the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot in emphatic fashion — awarded a massive 886 for that performance.

On speed figures, Fallen Angel again leads the way, recording an average speed 4.54 km/h faster than the THM standard average last time out. That race was clearly run at a strong pace, yet she still managed to pull clear impressively.

Turning to course form, Field Of Gold is one from one at Ascot; Rosallion two from three; Never So Brave two from four; Docklands three from seven; and Quddwah two from four.

There’s plenty of winning form over the one-mile trip, with only Lion In Winter and Marvelman among the relatively well fancied, yet to score at this distance.

The same applies to the ground conditions — all bar Docklands and Marvelman have previously won on similar going.

In terms of jockey statistics, William Buick boasts the best record at Ascot over the past 12 months, striking at 20%, and he partners Carl Spackler here. In contrast, Colin Keane and Sean Levey, who ride Field Of Gold and Rosallion respectively, have each managed just one winner at Ascot in the last year — something to consider.
