We're back with our next chapter of horse racing form study.

Last time we covered the basics; this is a slight rise in class. It's not unusual for a number of well handicapped or talented horses to run in the same race. When this happens, multiple next time out winners will emerge from this specific piece of form.

During the flat season, there are always a number of "hot" maiden or novice races that produce strong form lines to follow. For example, let's take a look at the below Novice Stakes race at Newmarket in June this year:

Now if we delve into the performances of some of the horses in their next races, things start to get very interesting. Ombudsman won his next start under a 7lb penalty in a 13 runner race. Arabian Light won his next two races. Skipper went off favourite for both of his next two races where he came 2nd and then won. First Conquest won his next start, Kilt came 2nd in a handicap, Sword came 2nd next time out, and even 100/1 shot Urban Lion won on his next start after making his debut in this super hot contest.

This is just one of many examples where a race has produced an abundance of winners. If you're able to find these races and use them to your advantage, clearly this can give you an edge. Many of the punting fanatics will know these strong form lines and recognise all of the horses involved from memory.

So now you know! When studying the strength of a horse's form, it's always worth analysing how the surrounding runners performed in their following races. Use all of the information available to your advantage.

That's all for now.
