There's a solid racecard at Newbury today and punters are trying to work out how well handicapped Galop De Chasse is in the Coral Handicap Chase (14:30). If we accept at face value his victory last year over Kandoo Kid at this Course and Distance, many believe he could easily be a stone ahead of the handicapper.

Galop De Chasse and Kandoo Kid were both rated 123 when they clashed in a Handicap Chase last year, with the Venetia Williams charge just getting the better of Paul Nicholls' Kandoo Kid. It's worth noting that there was a yawning 30-length gap back to the third placed Our Jet. At the time it looked a really strong piece of form.

Kandoo Kid then won next time out and went on to run impressively again at Newbury, Ascot and Aintree, climbing the handicap ranks in the process. He's now rated 145 and runs tomorrow in the Coral Gold Cup Handicap Chase (15:00).

Galop De Chasse runs off 133 today after being nudged up just 1lb for a solid comeback run on Ground that was probably too quick for him. He has ideal underfoot conditions today and surely a great chance of making it 2 from 2 at Newbury. Heltenham looks quite high in the handicap, but is 3 from 3 at Newbury and likely to provide the most resistance under Harry Skelton.
