Over the next couple of days we have one of the highlights of the Sandown racing calendar, with a mixture of listed and Group action on display. On tomorrow’s racecards there looks to be an interesting contest in the 4.45, the Coral Marathon, with the top 4 of the field closely grouped in the market. It’s a 2 mile race for horses aged 4 years and older.

With this being a listed race, all horses in the field will be carrying 9 stone 2 tomorrow, other than Term Of Endearment who has a 5lb mare allowance. So let’s get stuck in to some form.

From a course form perspective, Trueshan and Coltrane come out on top. They have both had 2 runs at the track and have a win to their name. None of the others in the field have won or placed at Sandown before.

Looking at some distance form, Trueshan comes out on top, striking at 39% over 2 mile trips. Coltrane and Al Nayyir are also proven over this distance, whilst Term Of Endearment has only run over the trip once, coming 7th of 10 in Meydan. She has predominantly run over shorter distances – the longest trip she has won over is 1mile 6 furlongs.

The going is set to be good tomorrow and we can see on our ground tab that all horses have plenty of winning form on this ground. This shouldn’t cause issues for any of the field.

Topping our THM Score last time out is Term Of Endearment, who posted an impressive 769. However, it’s important to check the conditions under which scores were achieved and how it aligns to the race in question. We can see this score was achieved over a shorter trip than she’ll be facing tomorrow.

Other standouts are Al Nayyir, who posted a 753 last time out and importantly this was achieved over course, ground and distance. Similarly, Coltrane posted a 789 in his 2nd to last race which was also achieved over course, ground and distance.

Best of luck!
