It’s pretty slim pickings at the moment while we await Glorious Goodwood, but we do have the Group 3 Hackwood Stakes at Newbury which is available on tomorrow's racecards. It’s a 6f race for horses aged 3 years and above.
Top of the market is Regional (2/1), and on official ratings he is 3rd of the field and 2 points behind Kind Of Blue (13/2) and Khaadem (16/1) who are both rated 116. However, Regional does top our THM Score last time out, posting an 806 when finishing 3rd in the 5f King Charles Stakes at Royal Ascot. He has posted over 800 in his last 4 races which have been achieved on both Good/Good To Firm Ground and also over 5-6f. The ground is currently set to be Good To Firm, however there is more rain around tomorrow so this could easily change.
Diligent Harry (10/1) posted an 805 last time out on the AW and his last 5 races have all been on this surface. Other standouts are Kind Of Blue’s 830 on Soft ground at Ascot in his 3rd to last run and his 840 on Good ground at Haydock in his 4th to last run. Both these runs were towards the end of the flat season last year though and he hasn’t brought much to the table so far in 2025.
Topping the course form is Elite Status (4/1), who is 2 from 2 at the Newbury track. There are only 2 other horses who have won there before - Khaadem who is 1 from 3, and outsider Rage Of Bamby (40/1) who is 1 from 1.
From a distance perspective, we can see there is lots of winning form on offer, with only Ain’t Nobody (20/1) and Russet Gold (40/1) yet to win over the 6f trip. The standouts are Jarraff (11/2) who has won 3 of his 6 starts over this distance and Fair Angelica (16/1) who is 2 from 3.
As mentioned previously, the ground is set to be Good To Firm tomorrow. The only 2 horses yet to win on this ground before are Diligent Harry and King’s Gamble (16/1). The standout is Khaadem who strikes at 42% on this going, but there is plenty of other winning form on offer from some of the others too.
Now onto our Average Speed Analysis. This tab shows how much faster or slower each horse’s average speed was in its last 4 races compared to the THM Standard Average. It’s the +/- to STD AVG column we are interested in and after sorting this column by fastest to slowest we can see top of the pile is outsider Rage Of Bamby, who ran 2.64kph faster. Next up is King’s Gamble who ran 1.74kph faster. The key is to check the conditions the speed figures were achieved under in the “Race Info” column and how these compare to the conditions of tomorrow’s race.
